Elizabethtown, KY – April 25, 2011 – Sun Tan City, the leader in the industry with the fastest growing chain of privately owned tanning salons, announced today plans to raise funds to support the Raven Drum Foundation through the month of May in all of their 129 salons.
The Raven Drum Foundation was founded by Def Leppard drummer, Rick Allen, and his wife Lauren Monroe. The foundation’s mission is to serve, educate and empower veterans and people in crisis. The nonprofit provides educational programs to inspire personal growth during times of adversity. Their focus is the Veteran Resiliency Project.
The Veteran Resiliency Project is an innovative healing program for veterans, active duty military and their families. These programs guide participants and give them somatic and contemplative methods to bring body and mind to a place of rest and balance. The program focuses on self-healing tools that veterans and their loved-ones can incorporate into their daily lives and help to heal combat-related trauma and stress experienced by service men and women.
Sun Tan City salons will be collecting funds during the month of May through pin-up donations as well as a special collection weekend May 14 & 15. That weekend Sun Tan City will accept $5 donations to the Raven Drum Foundation in return for a free spray tanning session. Giving the community a chance to help support a worthy cause and get something special in return.
“We have looked this year for ways give back by supporting organizations that reach the communities our clients live,” said Rick Kueber, Sun Tan City Co-Founder/CEO. “Raven Drum and their efforts to support and heal both our veterans and active military persons is a worthy cause and we are honored to be able to help the cause.”
