Build Your Base Tan Before Summer!

If you’re planning on getting any sun this year at the beach or pool, you’ll want to build a base tan to help prep your skin for the summer months.

It may have been awhile since you last visited us. If so, be sure to update any of your contact info so you can get back into the E-Club! Why? I’ll send you exclusive updates for our promotions that will help get you a bit more bang for your buck!

After you update your info, be sure to discuss what your tanning goals are with your expert Tanning Consultant. That way, they can determine when you need to have your base tan ready for action!  Also, tell them a bit about your lifestyle and budget so they can make some recommendations to match your tanning goals.

We will always recommend your exposure time to build gradually. For instance, our Fast level sunbed is typically 20 minutes. With this bed, we would recommend a very short tanning time. Shorter tanning times will help prevent burns and help us be sure your skin’s melanin develops properly. Another important reminder about tanning with us is you can only tan once every 24 hours.

Some tanning tips and tricks to follow throughout your tanning journey are to always exfoliate before your tanning session and always use one of our tan extenders after every sunbed visit. If you use a Sunless tanning booth, there are other guidelines to follow. Be sure to ask your Tanning Consultant for more details if you are interested in Sunless options.

Last but not least, always wear your eyewear. The FDA requires eye protection to be worn while utilizing any sunbed. We do sell temporary (one-time use) sticker eyewear or you can purchase goggles, which can be used multiple times.

Mix Up Your Tanning Routine

Ever feel like you’re in the same old routine, day after day? If you’re anything like me you love to change it up and tan in different sunbeds. When you do, you’re experiencing different levels of our sunbeds, which is great for your skin and helps you develop a deep, golden tan. Why? When you tan in different beds, you’ll be indulging in different light formulations, all of which have different benefits.

Our Fast level is our introductory sunbed. The lamps are high-quality and have been carefully selected to help you get a great tan. Many of the Fast sunbeds are used in 20-minute sessions, a tan time that allows you to have a long, relaxing tanning session.

Our Faster level is a slightly higher intensity sunbed, which is about two to three times better than the Fast level. This higher intensity makes sessions slightly shorter than those in the Fast sunbed. Overall, the Faster sunbed is a great option for a rich, even base tan with a reasonably faster turnaround time for results.

Our Fastest level sunbed is a fabulous way to get a deep base tan in four to seven sessions, depending upon your skin type. Another great feature is that the tan time in this sunbed is shorter than a Fast or Faster level bed. So, if you’re having a busy day but still want to get in and tan, this is a perfect option. The Fastest sunbed is equipped with several upscale features that include a high-pressure facial tanner, shoulder tanners and reflector lamps.

Our Instant level is our highest-intensity and highest-quality sunbed. Sessions can take up to 12 minutes, or less time if you choose. Tanners who use this bed can get a dark, natural base tan within two to three sessions, which makes it the absolute fastest way to get a natural, golden brown glow.

Finally, we have our Sunless tanning booths. These amazing tanning booths can give you a glow that can last four to seven days within a matter of minutes. Some of our salon locations include VersaSpa and MyMyst tanning booths. Be sure to check with your favorite Sun Tan City tanning salon for details on their Sunless booths.

The spring season is one of my favorite times of the year. All of the flowers are blooming, and the sounds of birds chirping which remind me of all the weddings going on this season.

Build the Perfect Base Tan

If you’re new to tanning at Sun Tan City, have no fear, your pal Vicki is here to help you navigate through your first few visits as you build a base tan.

First, be sure to drop by a local Sun Tan City tanning salon. All of our locations can be found on our website at http://www.suntancity.com/salon-locations/. Upon your arrival, one of our highly trained Tanning Consultants will have you fill out some paperwork that helps us determine your skin type.

Once you are finished with that part of the process, be sure to tell the Tanning Consultant when more about your vacation or event. That way, they can determine when you need to have your base tan ready for action!  Also, tell them a bit about your lifestyle and budget so they can make some recommendations to match your tanning goals.

For most skin types, a few tanning sessions will be required for your skin’s melanin to develop. We will always recommend your exposure time to build gradually. For instance, our Fast level sunbed is typically 20 minutes. With this bed, we would recommend a very short tanning time for you so you do not burn and so that we can be sure your skin’s melanin develops properly. Another important reminder about tanning with us is you can only tan once every 24 hours.

Get Your Base Tan Before Spring Break!

I’m so ready for spring break, I can hardly stand it! I’m making my plans for a week where I can get away from my daily routine and have some fun in the sun! The best part of the planning is getting my base tan ready at my favorite Sun Tan City tanning salon!

For those of you who are new to tanning at Sun Tan City be sure to drop by a location near you and speak with one of our expert Tanning Consultants. They can assist you in determining what your skin type is and how to achieve your best tan in the time you have. They may suggest different levels and tanning lotions so don’t be afraid to ask questions if you do not follow their tan-talk lingo.

Please remember these fun tan tips:

  • Moisturized skin helps you develop your tan and keep it longer.
  • While you’re building your tan, it may take up to 24 hours for you to see the results.

Tan Times Explained

Protecting my friends from overexposure to ensure they have the ultimate tanning experience is one of the most important aspects of our friendship. To do that, our expert Tanning Consultants set limits on your tan times. I know that sometimes upsets you, but I promise this is for your protection.

As you know, you should gradually build up your time in our tanning beds in small increments – one to two minutes at a time. We base your tan time on skin tone and carefully test your susceptibility to burning. Once we know that, we go with the suggested times for your skin.

The biggest rule I have for all of my friends is that you do not tan more than one time per day in our tanning beds or sunless booths. If you disagree with me, there is nothing I can do. This is a strict rule, and I won’t allow anyone to bend it. It’s tough love, my friends. But again, these rules are in place for your protection.

I appreciate your understanding of these rules when your Tanning Consultant makes the best decisions for your unique – and beautiful – skin!

Golden Rules of Tanning

The Golden Rules to getting a great tan are extremely simple to implement into your tanning routine or if you are new to tanning, this is a great way to create your tanning routine.

The first thing you should do to enhance your tanning results is to prep your skin before you tan. Prepping is something you already do, every day… Shower and moisturize your skin. Moisturizing your skin daily will also increase the longevity of your golden glow.

Ladies, a Golden Rule you should always follow is to avoid wearing make-up in the sunbed and sunless booths. Make-up can interfere with the rays and if you’re wearing it in the sunless booth, it can create a barrier between your skin and the formula, which will prevent you from getting the best results possible.

My personal Golden Rule and hopefully one of yours as well: Always apply tanning lotion before every tanning visit. Lotions work best when they are applied right before your tanning sessions. If you don’t know which lotion will give you the best color you can get, ask one of our expert Tanning Consultants. They are there to help you with your tanning goals, so please don’t hesitate to ask them for their advice.

The biggest Golden Rule of all… Wear your goggles! State and federal law require that you wear proper protective eyewear when you are tanning because your eyelids are too thin to block out UV rays entirely. To cater to all of our clients’ preferences, we sell both regular and temporary goggles at all of our salon locations.

The last Golden Rule I will share with you today is to always use a tan extender. As I mentioned before, they are the best way to extend the life of your golden glow and make your skin irresistibly soft.
