Personal Tanning Plan

Earlier this month, we talked about the tanning requirements our Tanning Consultants have to pass in order to be an accredited Tanning Consultant. One of these tests is Proper Skin Typing and the importance of learning this is so we can help you develop a personal tanning plan.

Your skin type determines how quickly you tan, what color your tan is, and how long you keep your tan. Our Tanning Consultants use your skin type to determine which bed would be best to achieve the tan goal you want. And it also helps us to determine how long you should stay in a bed so you don’t get overexposure.

Not all of us are lucky enough to get a gorgeous, dark tan in a couple of visits. So if you ever have questions about what bed you should use to get what you want, just ask our Tanning Consultants and they will be able to help you make the best choice.

Is Your Face Not as Tan as the Rest of Your Body?

On our Facebook page, there have been a lot of our clients asking how to get their face tan. Their faces aren’t getting as dark as the rest of their bodies, and they don’t know why. It’s not uncommon for a facial lotion or makeup to have SPF in them. If yours do, your face won’t tan as much as the rest of your body if you keep it on while tanning.

For best results, wash your face before tanning. We have restrooms you are more than welcome to use before you go into your room. This will take off any makeup and moisturizer with SPF in them. Next, you will want to apply a facial tanning lotion, like Blend Premium Face. Lotions like these are specially formulated with minerals to prevent aging, tighten skin, and is just right for more sensitive skin.

And of course, you’re more than welcome to use our restrooms to reapply your makeup if you would like to do this before you leave our salons.

So if you have been having problems with your face not getting as tan, try this tip and let us know how it turns out.

Our Concord, New Hampshire tanning salon just had its first birthday! Happy Birthday Concord Sun Tan City! This salon is one of our Sun Tan City franchise locations, and we are so happy to have it as part of our family.

How Water Makes You Tan

When you’re building your tan, most people thing about lotion, face lotion, tan extender, moisturizing body wash, and eye protection. But an important thing a lot of people forget about is water.

Moisturized skin tans easier than dry skin, and not to mention it just looks better in general. But no matter how good of a lotion you have, if you don’t moisturize from the inside (by drinking water) you aren’t going to get optimal results.

So be sure to drink the recommended 64 ounces of water a day to keep your skin looking vibrant. And remember, moisturized skin tans better!

Tanning Salon Highlight: Hamburg in Lexington, KY

Talk about multi-tasking… the Sun Tan City tanning salon at Hamburg Shopping Center in Lexington, Kentucky is in one of the best locations. There’s shopping, there’s dining, and it’s right off the I-75 and Man ‘O Way Boulevard.

This salon is located at 2337 Sir Barton Way, Suite 135, right next to Bonefish Grill.

The Hamburg salon has 13 rooms, so you can get in, tan, and go on with your busy life. Different from most of our salons, this location does not have the Fast bed.

The Faster tanning beds are the Black Ambition; the Faster Stand Up tanning beds are the Black Sundash 252; the Fastest tanning beds are the Ergoline Prestige 1100; the Instant beds are the Ergoline Open Sun 1050; and our sunless option is the VersaSpa.

Free Tanning for a Year

For the first time ever, we are giving away a FREE YEAR OF TANNING to one lucky person!

To enter the It’s Glowtime sweepstakes, go to the Sun Tan City Facebook page and all you have to do is enter your name, email address and age on the It’s Glowtime tab.

Official Rules and Regulations:

The ‘It’s Glowtime’ Promotion conducted by Sun Tan City is an opt-in promotion. Located on the Sun Tan City Facebook Page, the user must enter the promotion through the ‘It’s Glowtime’ Promotion. One entry per person. Users can enter the ‘It’s Glowtime’ Promotion on these dates: March 7 – April 24, 2011.

It’s Glowtime! Free Tanning Promotion

Earlier this year, we mentioned on Facebook that we had a little something up our sleeves that you would love, but we couldn’t tell you what it was yet. Well, it’s that time and we can spread the news!

Sun Tan City is giving away one year of free tanning to one lucky person. The promotion is called It’s Glowtime, because let’s face it, Showtime is better with a tan glow.

You will be able to enter on the Facebook Tab on the Sun Tan City Facebook page.

We’ll post more details once the promotion starts, but I figured we shouldn’t tease you all much more.

March of Dimes with Sun Tan City

Every year, Sun Tan City participates in the March of Dimes because community involvement and philanthropy is very important to our company. We will be doing many fundraising events in our salons to contribute to our goal to raise $7,500.

Our employees will be able to wear jeans to work if they make a donation, and they can also sport the cute March of Dimes t-shirts to show our support. But we’re extending our fundraising effort to our clients as well.

From March 15th to April 15th, we will be accepting donations for the March of Dimes. If you donate $1, we will hang your name in our salon to show your support of March of Dimes. Of course, you’re more than welcome to donate more, but any little bit helps!

Our tanning salons will be participating in local March of Dimes walks, and we would love to have you join us. Just ask your Tanning Consultant about the walk details.

So please, join us in this great cause so we can all help make a difference.
