Christy Cates is the Director of Education and Training for Sun Tan City, the fastest growing chain of tanning salons in the country. While obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Urban Affairs from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada, Christy worked for several years in the tanning industry in a variety of positions in Training and Operations. 

Christy joined Sun Tan City in 2004 and is responsible for developing and implementing all training initiatives and programs. Christy and her team of 9 Field Trainers have streamlined the Training Process, allowing for more consistent and acute development of the Field Operators through developing innovative training materials, interactive training seminars, and hiring and directing the staff of the Training Department.  Christy has continued to develop the Sun Tan City training division by implementing new programs such as the Training Salon Director Program and the District Manager Training program. 

One factor that has contributed to Christy's success has been her ability to shape and evolve the Training materials and processes to continually suit the needs of our rapidly growing company.  Her implementation of a standardized format for training and development, has allowed our tanning consultant teams to be the strongest in the industry.
