Elizabethtown, KY — January 29, 2009 — Sun Tan City, the nation's fastest growing chain of privately owned tanning salons, expanded to North Carolina and Virginia in January 2010. The new sun tanning salons are located in Cary and Raleigh, N.C., and Charlottesville, Roanoke, Rocky Mount and Waynesboro, V.A. Seven total salons were opened to offer high quality sun tanning in these cities.

The North Carolina franchise group of Sun Tan City was recently acquired from the purchase and conversion of three Palm Beach Tan salons in Cary and Raleigh, North Carolina. The group is opening three more locations to expand the market in Cary, Durham and Garner, N.C.

The Sun Tan City franchise in Virginia was a merger of five existing FasTan salons that have been serving the area for 10 years. Run by J.T. Fauber, these salons will now have the support of the Sun Tan City chain behind them to offer clients an even better experience while still be the same great people behind the counter. A new salon is scheduled to open in Charlottesville, VA mid-February.
